Dr. Slattery was born and raised on a cow/calf and farming operation in western Nebraska. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Chadron State College and continued his education at Iowa State University, where he graduated with a degree in Veterinary Medicine. He has been involved in large animal veterinary practice for over 30 years and his experiences range from working on small beef and dairy herds in eastern Iowa to large ranches in western Nebraska. He has also worked with beef cattle heifer development and has extensive experience in fertility evaluating yearling and herd bulls of various breeds. He has experience with both smaller family and corporate feedyards with 20,000 head of cattle as well. His desire is to work in and make an impact on the beef cattle industry. 
 
Dr. Slattery met and married his wife, Gale, when they were attending veterinary school. They have four grown children that were all involved in the family cattle herd operation when they were growing up. Their two sons are still involved in the beef cattle and agricultural industry. 
 
Dr. Slattery is licensed to practice veterinary services in Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, South Dakota, and Colorado. He is also a member of the AVMA, NVMA, Academy of Veterinary Consultants (AVC), and American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP). With over 30 plus years of experience in the veterinary world you know your cattle will be in good hands.
